Virtual
Design Challenge

Taylor King, Woodbridge, KingsHaven sponsored this virtual design challenge, which was to create a “dream scheme” for a luxurious Parisian living room using upholstery from Taylor King; case goods, dining, and occasional furniture from Woodbridge Furniture; and lighting from KingsHaven.

All contestants were given the freedom of an unlimited budget and the same virtual floor plan and architecture.

What comes to mind when anyone mentions a Paris apartment are the parquet floors. In keeping with that, the concept follows a minimalistic design approach with maximum impact.

The apartment walls were kept white to contrast the wooden parquet flooring and geometric black and white tiles. Beautifully blending traditional with a twist, all furniture pieces chosen were sleek while experimenting with various colors and textures in the upholstery and cushions. Wood and brass elements blended effortlessly throughout while the addition of bold abstract artwork and the occasional greens and antiques further unified the aesthetic.

The apartment was envisioned to be most alive during the day with the natural light streaming in through the tall glass doors and soft white sheers.
You could be casually lounging, at the dinner table or working at your desk while catching a glimpse of the outdoors.
